Blog Post #2 Flying, and Driving, Into the Future

20% time is an intriguing idea, and it works. Where other projects fail due to a lack of an ability to engage and intellectually challenge the participant, 20% time captivates and interests the participant, because the entire project is devised by the participant. This is why, when it was integrated into the work schedule at Google, we now have innovative products such as Gmail, Google News, and AdSense.
While I am still not 100% sure what it is I would like to do, I am considering the use of a Quadcopter Drone and an RC Car, outfitted with GoPros, to conduct surveillance missions, and in case of a hostage situation. I want to try to create a relay system from the controllers, through the Quadcopter, and to the RC Car. It would effectively increase transmission distance, and increase video quality. For real life applications, like a hostage situation in a building, the RC Car would be able to drive through the enemy base to scout out a preliminary map, while the Quadcopter would remain above the building, acting as a bird-eye view camera, and the controllers would be able to move both from a safe distance away, using the relay. The point of being able to create your own project is to help the world, and in many ways, the Quadcopter Drone paired with the RC Car does.

While both images were pulled from the internet, they look relatively alike to the real thing.
